China Galvanized Steel Supplier
ZIVO STEEL sources galvanized steel coil, flat sheet and tube through distinct partner routes. First choose hot-dip or electro-galvanized flat product, or pre-galvanized versus post-fabrication galvanized tube. Coil sizes and minimum order below belong to coil only.

What ZIVO STEEL Supplies in Galvanized Steel
ZIVO STEEL CO., LTD. is a steel supplier and not a mill. Galvanized coil is made and coated by partner factories: where the factory holds the material in stock, the order ships from that stock; where it does not, production is arranged. ZIVO serves every export market except the United States.
The galvanized family is not one coil product. It includes hot-dip and electro-galvanized coil, hot-dip or electro-galvanized flat sheet, and tubes galvanized before or after fabrication. These routes have different coating locations, form dimensions and acceptance bases. What changes is the standard your drawing names, and with it the symbols the order is written in, the table the certificate is checked against, and therefore the page here that answers you.
Choose coating route and delivered form first. The coil table and the DX51D or SGCC coil pages explain coil combinations; the flat-sheet and tube pages explain their own ordering fields. A source-coil coating does not automatically establish a finished-sheet or finished-tube specification.

Hot-Dip Galvanized Coil Subset
The table below describes the continuous hot-dip galvanized coil subset only; it does not cover electro-galvanized flat sheet or finished tube. The base grade decides how the steel behaves in your press or roll former; the standard beside it decides how the order is written and what the certificate has to prove.
| Base grade | Ordering standard | Coating |
|---|---|---|
| DX51D | EN 10346:2015 | Hot-dip zinc |
| DX52D | EN 10346:2015 | Hot-dip zinc |
| S250GD | EN 10346:2015 | Hot-dip zinc |
| S350GD | EN 10346:2015 | Hot-dip zinc |
| SGCC | JIS G 3302:2022 | Hot-dip zinc |
Across the five grades the coil runs 0.12 to 6.0 mm thick and 600 to 1500 mm wide. Each grade is supplied in its own coating steps and each step carries its own thickness band, so treat those figures as the outer edge of this coil subset and take the band that applies to your combination from the row it belongs to on the galvanized steel coil page.
The remaining settings do not change from grade to grade, so they are stated here once instead of being repeated down a column:
- Spangle: zero spangle, minimized spangle, regular spangle or big spangle.
- Surface treatment: chromate passivation, chromium-free passivation, phosphating, oiled, dry or anti-fingerprint.
- Skin pass: available.
- Edge: mill edge or slit edge.
- Processing: slitting and cutting to length.
None of those is chosen by the coating mass and none of them has a silent default. Each is a field ZIVO sales confirms with you before the order, and the agreed specification is kept on file for the shipment it belongs to.
Other coating families remain outside this approved catalogue: aluminium-zinc coated coil and prepainted coil, PPGI and PPGL. If your project mixes them with zinc-coated coil, say so in the inquiry rather than assuming the answer either way.
Choose Coil, Strip, Flat Sheet or Tube
Start with delivered form and coating route. For strip, specify the coating system, finished width, edge and winding requirements. For coil, the standard on the drawing selects the appropriate coil page. For flat sheet, confirm whether the order uses hot-dip zinc from a source coil, partner flat sheet, or an electro-galvanized sheet route. For tube, distinguish pre-galvanized substrate formed into tube from galvanizing after the tube is fabricated. Those routes do not share one coating designation or acceptance method.
The coil pages behind this one are arranged by the standard each is written around, so the standard on your drawing picks between them.
An order placed to EN 10346:2015 names the steel first and the zinc second: the nominal coating mass in combination with the symbol for the coating type — Z, ZF, ZA, ZM, AZ or AS — with the mass expressed in grams per square metre. DX51D, DX52D, S250GD and S350GD are ordered that way, and the DX51D page follows the string field by field.
An order placed to JIS G 3302 runs on that standard's own symbols instead, one for the grade and one for the coating class, which is what the SGCC page is written around.
An order placed to ASTM A653/A653M can be made in either inch-pound units (as A653) or SI units (as A653M); values in inch-pound and SI units are not necessarily equivalent, and each system is used independently of the other. The common inch-pound coating weight designations for galvanized sheet are G30, G40, G60, G90 and G115, and in SI units the comparable designations are Z90, Z120, Z180, Z275 and Z350. Those two lists live inside one standard in two unit systems; carrying a designation from one standard system into another is a cross-reference, which requires full specification review and stays subject to purchaser approval. An ASTM drawing starts best on the general coil page, where the whole table and the coating-mass basis are set out.

Specify the Galvanized Route and Form
A galvanized enquiry starts with end use, delivered form, coating process, governing standard, quantity and required documents. For coil, then state grade, coating mass and basis, surface treatment, thickness, width and winding. For flat sheet, add source route, finished dimensions, surface and packing. For tube, name pre- or post-fabrication galvanizing, section, dimensions, ends and coating acceptance. ZIVO confirms the actual specification with you before the order.
- The base grade, with its standardName the governing standard beside the grade. The grade fixes what the steel does under forming; it does not fix the zinc on top of it.
- The coating typeA letter, and a different process behind each one. EN 10346:2015 defines a hot-dip zinc coating (Z) as the application of a zinc coating by immersing the prepared strip in a molten bath of zinc, where the zinc content is at least 99%, and a hot-dip zinc-iron alloy coating (ZF) as a zinc-iron coating produced by immersing the prepared strip in molten zinc followed by annealing, which gives an iron content of normally 8 % to 12 %. EN 10152:2009 defines an electrolytic zinc coating (ZE) as zinc applied by electrolysis from an aqueous zinc salt solution by the use of an electric current.
- The coating mass, and the basis it is read onEN 10346:2015 defines coating mass as the total mass of coating given for both surfaces, and in an EN 10346 order the number designating the nominal mass of coating means, for example, 275 = 275 g/m² including both surfaces. A minimum per face is a separate requirement and has to be written as one.
- The coating finish, the surface quality, the surface treatmentAn EN 10346 order states a letter for the coating finish (N or M), a letter for the surface quality (A, B or C) and a letter for the surface treatment (C, O, CO, P, PO or S). Spangle rides on the first of those letters, and the mass you pick does not choose it for you.
- Skin pass, where the surface has to behaveISO 3575:2025 defines skin pass as light cold-rolling of the product, whose purpose is one or more of: to minimize the appearance of coil breaks, stretcher strains and fluting; to control the shape; and to obtain the required surface finish. Some increase in hardness and some loss in ductility will result, so it is asked for on purpose rather than by habit.
- Then the ordinary commercial fieldsThickness, width, length and quantity, plus the coil inner diameter and the coil weight your uncoiler can take. Send those with the five above and the inquiry is complete enough to price.

How Zinc Reaches Coil or Tube
The steps below explain continuous coating of strip or coil; they are not a description of dipping a finished tube. Pre-galvanized tube is formed from a coated strip or coil, while post-fabrication tube is galvanized after tube making. Specify which route the order uses before borrowing any coating terminology from a coil standard.
The strip runs through a bath
Continuous hot-dip coating involves the application of a molten coating onto the surface of steel sheet in a non-stop process: the steel sheet is passed as a continuous ribbon through a bath of molten metal at speeds up to 600 feet per minute.
The line is a row of sections
A continuous hot-dip coating line may include an entry-end welder, an alkaline cleaning section, an annealing furnace, the bath of molten coating metal, gas knives, a cooling section, a temper mill, a tension leveler, a chemical treatment section, an oiling section and a recoiler. The passivation and the oiling you name in the order are two of those sections.
Gas knives set the mass
As the strip emerges from the molten bath it drags out excess liquid metal; using a gas-wiping process, a controlled thickness of coating, usually expressed as weight (mass) of coating per unit area, is allowed to remain on the strip surface. That is why zinc is ordered as a mass over an area and not as a thickness.
The bond forms, and stays thin
On continuous galvanizing lines the molten zinc and steel react during the brief immersion to form a metallurgical bond, and the bonding alloy layer is usually only 1 to 2 micrometers thick. Producers keep it thin by adding a controlled amount of aluminum, approximately 0.15 to 0.20%, to the molten zinc bath and by controlling the strip and bath temperatures; that addition is not typical practice in batch galvanizing.
A coating that bends with the part
The coating formed by the continuous process is made almost entirely of eta layer, free zinc, and has very little alloying, which makes it very formable without cracking; the same lack of alloying also means pre-galvanized sheet is less abrasion resistant than steel galvanized using the batch process.
Spangle appears in the cooling
Spangles develop when the molten zinc adhering to the steel sheet is cooled below the melting point of zinc, which is approximately 787 °F [419 °C]. Whether that pattern is left visible, minimized or suppressed is a field of your order rather than a by-product to accept.
What the zinc then does
Metallic coatings protect steel in two ways: they provide barrier protection and, in most instances, galvanic protection. How long that lasts follows from the mass on the coil, which is why the mass is the figure each coil page records row by row.
The electrolytic route
In continuous electrogalvanizing the anode is zinc, the cathode is the steel strip and the electrolyte is zinc sulfate (another similar process uses zinc chloride), and the coating is built up a small amount each time the strip passes through one of a series of plating cells. The bonding occurs by interatomic attraction, whereas hot-dip coatings rely on diffusion between the liquid coating metal and the solid steel substrate, so a very clean steel surface is what the process depends on. Kobe Steel explains that the sheets are not heat-affected, so they keep the workability of the hot-rolled or cold-rolled base sheet, and that the zinc layer is pure, with excellent ductility but no brittle iron-zinc alloy layer. ArcelorMittal describes the product as a cold rolled flat carbon steel coated on one or both sides with a pure zinc layer of uniform and regular thickness, with good resistance to corrosion for indoor applications and an excellent substrate for painting.
Which route your mass points to
Hot-dip galvanized coatings can be applied at levels ranging from as low as 0.30 oz/ft² [90 g/m²] to greater than 2.00 oz/ft² [600 g/m²]; thin coatings suit applications where the corrosion rate is low, thick ones where it is high and long service life is needed. Electroplated zinc coated sheet applications involve either a coating mass of 50 to 80 g/m² per surface, used predominantly for automotive work, or a coating mass of less than 25 g/m² for applications, often indoor, that do not require a high degree of corrosion protection. Compared with a G90 hot-dip coating, even the heaviest coating masses of electrogalvanized product are considerably less than much of the hot-dip galvanized product in use today for exterior applications; conversely, production of hot-dip coatings as thin as the lightest electrogalvanized coatings is not practical. At the same coating mass the two behave alike in corrosion terms: a coating mass of 100 g/m² will provide essentially the same amount of corrosion protection whether it is hot-dip galvanized or electrogalvanized. So the mass on the drawing, read on its stated basis, is what points at a route.
Documents and Inspection
The coil routes use their own coating standards and order documents. For flat sheet and tube, agree the relevant source and finished-form documents, material marks and checks with the order; the coil pre-shipment checklist is not a universal tube or sheet inspection promise.
Start with the coating line of the certificate, because it is the line most often printed without the thing that makes it checkable. Under ASTM A924/A924M, metallic-coated steel sheet is produced to various coating designations shown in the individual product specifications and, except for differentially coated sheet, the coating is always expressed as the total coating of both surfaces. Ask for the figure, the surfaces it covers and the test it came from, in that order.
- Mill test certificate and packing listEach shipment comes with a mill test certificate (MTC) and a packing list.
- Checks before the coil leavesBefore shipment ZIVO checks thickness, width, surface, weight, packing and labels.
- Third-party inspectionThird-party inspection, for example SGS or BV, is accepted; the inspection cost is paid by you.
- Label photosPhotos of coil labels can be provided.
- The test behind the coating figureASTM designations for hot-dip coated sheet specify a minimum triple spot test value, which is the average of three edge-center-edge readings and a total-both-sides requirement, a minimum single spot test value, and a minimum single side requirement that is normally not less than 40% of the minimum single-spot total-both-sides requirement. Say in the order which of those your acceptance rests on.
- The specification on fileThe specification is confirmed by ZIVO sales together with you before the order and kept on file, so the certificate is read against what was agreed and not against anyone's memory of it.

Coil Packing and Shipment
The packing described here is for galvanized coil. Flat sheet and tube need separate piece or bundle protection, marking and handling terms in the quotation.
Coils travel packed: steel edge protectors, moisture-proof paper and a wooden pallet. Coils are not shipped unpacked, whichever grade is on them.
Under that packing sits the field that decides how the surface looks on arrival. Passivation and oiling are ordered rather than assumed; they are part of the specification ZIVO sales confirms with you before the order and keeps on file, and they are picked for the voyage and for the wait at your end, not only for what your line likes to feed. The usual ports of loading are Qingdao and Tianjin.
If the coil will sit before it runs, say so while the inquiry is still open. What white rust is, which surface treatments hold it off, and how coils should be stowed once they land are set out at length on the galvanized steel coil page.
