Order-specific inspection and traceability

Quality & Traceability

ZIVO confirms specifications with you before an order. Its established pre-shipment coil checks cover thickness, width, surface, weight, packing and labels. For sheet, plate, pipe and bar, agree the applicable checks, identification and documents with the actual order and supplier route.

01 · Form-specific checks

Checks by Delivered Form

For coil orders, ZIVO checks thickness, width, surface, weight, packing and labels before shipment. Do not transfer that exact checklist to every other shape. On a flat-product, tube or bar order, identify the measurements and acceptance method before shipment, then agree who records the result.

  • Coil

Confirm thickness, width, surface, weight, packing and labels against the coil order.

  • Sheet and plate

Agree finished piece dimensions, flatness or cut tolerance, surface, quantity, marks and packing for the flat-product route.

  • Pipe and tube

State outside dimensions, wall, length, end condition, coating if applicable, and the governing test and marking basis.

  • Bar

State section, size, length, delivery condition, cutting allowance and heat or lot identification needed for receipt.

02 · Documents and identity

Documents and Material Identity

Confirm the document type, material identity and test scope needed for the actual form and governing order. ZIVO provides a mill test certificate (MTC) and packing list with shipments; check whether the source document and piece, bundle or coil marks can be reconciled for your order. Do not infer an inspection-certificate type from the word MTC alone.

Each shipment comes with a mill test certificate (MTC) and a packing list. To verify delivered material against its mill test report, always check the heat number on the report against the tags on the material.

Under BS EN 10204:2004, the document types are:

  • Type 2.1 is the Declaration of compliance with the order; its content is a statement of compliance with the order, and it is validated by the manufacturer.
  • Type 2.2 is the Test report; its content is a statement of compliance with the order with indication of results of nonspecific inspection, and it is validated by the manufacturer.
  • Type 3.1 is the Inspection certificate 3.1; its content is a statement of compliance with the order with indication of results of specific inspection, and it is validated by the manufacturer's authorized inspection representative, independent of the manufacturing department.
  • Type 3.2 is the Inspection certificate 3.2; its content is a statement of compliance with the order with indication of results of specific inspection, and it is validated by the manufacturer's authorized inspection representative independent of the manufacturing department and either the purchaser's authorized inspection representative or the inspector designated by the official regulations.

03 · Material marks

Coil Labels and Other Marks

Photos of coil labels can be provided. For sheet, plate, pipe and bar, ask which piece or bundle marks and source documents will identify the material delivered; confirm that mapping on the order rather than assuming a coil-label method applies.

Specification Confirmation

Before the order, ZIVO sales confirms the specification with you, and the confirmed specification is kept on file.

Repeat Order Change Control

For a repeat order, bring the prior approved specification and this order's requested version side by side. Compare the standard and edition, product form, delivery condition, dimensions and tolerances for the actual form, surface or coating, edge or end condition, processing and packing for each material line. Mark every changed field, then ask your engineering or quality owner which changes require fresh approval or an additional test. Do not assume an unchanged grade name means the previous condition or process result carries forward.

Confirm the new specification with ZIVO sales before placing this order. Ask how the order line, applicable material mark, packing list and mill test certificate will be matched on receipt. Any repeat-order price, availability and delivery timing must be confirmed for the current order.

Third-Party Inspection

Third-party inspection, for example by SGS or BV, is accepted. The inspection cost is paid by you.

Third-Party Inspection Requests

If your order needs an outside inspection, specify the purchase order and material lot, intended location and timing, the dimensions or surface items to be checked, the sampling plan, the nominated institution, the report recipient and the action if a discrepancy is found. Agree the scope and who contacts the inspector before the shipment schedule is fixed.

The accepted inspection arrangement and cost responsibility above do not mean ZIVO selects or books an inspector, guarantees an appointment date, pays the inspector, or issues an independent certificate. Put any requested coordination in the order for separate confirmation.

06 · Problem handling

If a Problem Is Found

Quality problems found after delivery are handled from written feedback with photos, followed by a resolution.

  1. Written feedback

Describe the quality problem found after delivery in writing.

  2. Photos

Attach photos of the problem to the written feedback.

  3. Resolution

A resolution follows from the written feedback and photos.
