Prepainted Steel RFQ Checklist
Build a complete PPGI or PPGL order line that a partner supplier can validate.
Select form and substrate
Choose the delivered form first. A prepainted coil is processing feedstock, a flat sheet is a finished piece, and a profiled sheet follows a drawing with an effective cover width. Put the application and drawing at the top of the enquiry. A request for only color, thickness and tonnage leaves the supplier to guess the base and the unit of delivery.
State geometry and thickness basis
State the dimensions on the delivered product, not just the parent feedstock. A coil needs width, inner diameter, weight and winding limits; a flat sheet needs a finished piece schedule; a profile needs a drawing, effective cover width and lengths. Say whether thickness refers to base metal or finished coated material and which tolerance and measurement rule the order uses.
Form
State the required form and how it will be verified for this order.
Substrate
State the required substrate and how it will be verified for this order.
Metallic coating
State the required metallic coating and how it will be verified for this order.
Base and finished thickness
State the required base and finished thickness and how it will be verified for this order.
Specify both coating systems
Name PPGI or PPGL, the steel grade and product standard, and the metallic coating designation with its measurement basis. State whether your thickness means base metal or finished coated product. Then specify primer, topcoat and backcoat by side; ask the supplier to confirm the actual paint formulation and film requirements. Keep a physical color sample or controlled reference alongside the RAL code when visual matching matters.

Agree appearance and documents
Agree the visible face, approved color sample, packing protection and lot documents before comparing offers. If material is cut or formed after coating, distinguish parent-coil records from finished-piece geometry and surface checks. Name each requested test method and acceptance limit only where the supplier confirms it applies to the proposed material.
Send a complete RFQ
Send the complete order line and ask the supplier to mark each available or alternative field. Compare returned offers on one specification before price.
