Plate-format sourcing may use a partner mill or plate supplier, or an appropriate heavy flat product cut to the required size with order-specific processing. The buying decision begins with a plate drawing, delivery condition and inspection requirement. A coil or thin-sheet availability record does not confirm the same grade, finish or size as plate. Exact dimensions, surface condition and cutting allowance still need order-specific verification. Before quoting, ask whether the drawing requires a plate-format source product or permits a heavy flat product cut to size. Plate Dimensions and Delivery Condition
Give the required thickness, width and length for each plate, plus the material standard, grade, surface and delivery condition stated on the drawing. Plate and sheet are not separated by one global millimetre limit: the procurement route, cutting responsibility, identification and inspection determine this page’s role. If the same nominal thickness is sold as either form in different markets, tell ZIVO what format and evidence the receiving process requires.

The cutting method and acceptance criteria must be checked with the selected source and processor.

Plate Identification and Inspection
A plate purchase needs an identification plan that still works after pieces are cut. A certificate for a parent product does not by itself identify an unmarked cut piece.
