ZIVO STEEL: Author and Supplier
ZIVO STEEL CO., LTD. writes and maintains the material pages on this site, as a steel supplier in China rather than as a mill.
The Organization Behind This Guidance
The author of these pages is a company, not a named engineer: ZIVO STEEL CO., LTD. The same company sells the material it writes about, so this is guidance written by a party with a commercial interest in the enquiry, not by a neutral reference site.
ZIVO STEEL is a supplier. It trades stainless, carbon and galvanized steel and arranges supply from the mills that roll it, so the pages here are written from the ordering side: how material is specified, what a certificate has to show, what an order needs to name. Where a page explains how a product is made, such as how a coil is cold rolled, annealed or coated, it is describing general industry practice rather than work ZIVO STEEL performs itself. Anything that belongs to a particular mill, such as the route a heat took through the plant, stays with that mill and its documents.
The company profile, the trading role and the way orders are handled are set out in more detail on the about page.
What This Guidance Can Help You Decide
The grade, finish, product form and ordering pages exist to help you write down what your order actually needs, in the words a supplier and a mill can act on. They are useful before an enquiry: they show which properties have to be named, which questions a mill will ask back, and where a requirement is usually left dangerously vague.
They do not settle the order. Nothing on this site says that a grade, a finish or a size is available to you on a given date, and no page here becomes part of a contract on its own. The specification that counts is the one agreed between you and ZIVO sales before the order, which is then kept on file and used to check what is shipped.
How these pages are written, sourced and corrected is described in the editorial policy.
Keep the Order and Its Evidence Together
Keep one record of what was agreed, written in the same terms you used in the enquiry. When the material arrives, that record is what the shipment and its documents are checked against, and it is also what a disagreement is resolved with. Guidance on this site does not replace it.
- Product formCoil, sheet, plate, pipe or tube, written out rather than implied by a grade name.
- Grade and specificationThe grade you want and the specification it is ordered to, including the edition you and ZIVO sales agree on.
- DimensionsThe sizes the order is placed on, with the tolerance basis stated rather than assumed from habit.
- Finish or surface conditionThe surface you expect to receive, and any protection, oiling or film that has to be on it when it arrives.
- Quantity and delivery conditionThe quantity, the delivery terms and the condition the material has to be in on arrival.
- Documents requestedThe certificates, test reports and packing documents you need with the shipment, named in the order rather than asked for afterwards.
Ask About a Page or a Material Requirement
If something on this site looks wrong, say so and it will be checked. Write to henry@zivosteel.com, or use the inquiry form on any page, and put three things in Your Inquiry: the title of the page, the passage you disagree with, and the source you are relying on. A correction that names its source can be acted on; a general objection usually cannot.
A material requirement is welcome in the same place. Describe what the part has to do, the conditions it works in, and the documents your own process needs, and the reply will say what ZIVO STEEL can arrange and what it cannot.
