01

What an Inquiry Sends

The inquiry form on this site has four visible fields, and what you type into them is what is sent. Along with them the form sends the context of the page you were reading, so a reply can answer the grade, the form or the dimension that page was about instead of starting from a blank sheet.

The information is used to prepare and follow up a quotation, and that is the whole of its purpose here. Write the enquiry with what a quotation needs: the product form, the grade or the property the part has to meet, sizes, quantity, destination, and the documents your goods-in process expects.

There is nothing to gain from sending more than that. Identity-document scans, bank details, and personal information about people who have no part in the enquiry do not help a quotation and are better kept out of the message. If a commercial document has to change hands later, it belongs in the email thread that follows, where both sides know who they are writing to.

  • NameHow the reply should address you. A company name and a first name are usually enough.
  • EmailWhere the quotation is sent. A working address is the one thing the enquiry cannot do without.
  • WhatsApp, optionalLeft blank unless a message is faster for you than mail. Nothing is sent to it if the field is empty.
  • Your InquiryThe requirement itself, in your own words. The more of the specification it carries, the fewer rounds the quotation takes.
  • The page you were readingIts identifier, its title and its address travel with the message, so the answer starts from the same material you were looking at.
02 · Delivery and abuse checks

Email Delivery and Abuse Checks

What you send is delivered by email to the ZIVO STEEL inquiry mailbox, where it is read and answered. The form handler on the website composes that message, sends it, and does not keep the contents of the enquiry as records of its own in the site database.

That statement is about the form handler, and it stops there. The message itself exists in the mailbox it was delivered to, and it stays there while the correspondence is useful, in the way any quotation thread does. Separately from the form, the hosting platform may keep web server logs of its own; that is infrastructure underneath the website rather than part of the form handling, and this notice does not state what it records or for how long. Neither the mailbox nor a server log is the form handler, and no retention figure is given for either here.

One technical detail is worth naming. To stop automated submissions from flooding the mailbox, the handler derives a short hash from the network address a submission arrives from and uses it as a temporary counter for the rate limit. The counter is what the hash identifies; it exists to keep the form usable, and it is not a record of the enquiry or of the person who sent it.

03

Google Analytics

The public pages of this site load Google Analytics, which you can see for yourself in the source of any page you open. It is there to show which pages get read and which enquiry paths work.

Google's own documentation is what describes the collection. For a site like this one it covers the page being viewed and how it was reached, information the browser reports about itself and the device it runs on, and an approximate location worked out from the network address rather than from anything you type. Identifiers, cookies or similar browser storage may be used to tell one visit from the next, depending on the settings that apply in your browser and in the measurement property.

This section says what the service collects, as Google documents it. It does not state a consent arrangement or a retention period for this measurement property. What is actually collected depends on how this site implements the measurement, on how the measurement property is configured at the provider, and on the settings that apply in your browser; no one of those three settles it alone. What you can change from your side is in the browser controls below.

Microsoft Clarity

The same pages also load Microsoft Clarity, which records how a page is used: where a pointer travels, what gets clicked, how far the page is scrolled, and where reading stops. Those events can be replayed afterwards as a session, which is how a layout that breaks on a phone gets found at all.

A replay is held together by an identifier, so this is not anonymous browsing. Clarity's documentation describes the interaction and page information it collects, and the cookies and session identifiers it uses to recognise a session it has seen before; it also describes how text on a page can appear in a replay unless the masking that applies keeps it out.

This notice does not state a masking configuration or a retention period for session records, since those sit in the provider's project settings rather than here. What you can change from your side is in the browser controls below.

05 · Browser choices

Your Browser, and Changes to This Notice

The controls below live in the browser rather than on this site, and using them changes what the two services can collect: commonly they collect less, and a script that never loads collects nothing at all. They work forwards. They change collection from the moment you set them, and they do not reach or delete what either provider has already collected and holds in its own systems. None of them stops you reading the pages or sending an enquiry, because the form does not depend on measurement.

This site does not offer a measurement switch of its own, so the browser settings are where the choice is made.

This notice describes the site as it works today. When the handling changes, because the form behaves differently or a measurement service is added or dropped, the notice is meant to change with it. If a statement here reads as wider than what the site actually does, that is a question about the information published on this site, and the editorial responsibility page sets out how such a statement is traced and corrected.

  • Cookies and site storageBlocking or clearing them on a per-site basis is what stops one visit being recognised as the continuation of another.
  • A private windowStorage set during the session is discarded when the window closes, so the next visit is not recognised as a continuation of it. What was recorded before is unaffected.
  • Blocking extensions and networksContent blockers, and some corporate networks, stop measurement scripts from loading. A script that does not load collects nothing.
  • Tracking-preference signalsBrowsers can send a preference against tracking. What each service does with that signal is set on the service's side, not here.
06 · Ask about your inquiry

Questions About an Inquiry You Sent

To ask what was received, to correct something in it, or to ask for an earlier enquiry and its thread to be deleted, write to ZIVO STEEL CO., LTD. at henry@zivosteel.com, or use the inquiry form on any page and say so under Your Inquiry. A request of that kind is read and reviewed, and the reply says what was found and what was done with it.

Finding the earlier message is the practical part. The address you sent it from, roughly when you sent it, and the page or the product it concerned are normally enough to locate it. Please do not attach identity documents to prove who you are; if more is needed to match a request to a message, the reply will ask for the least that will do the job.

What can be done is worth stating precisely. Where the correspondence is only in the mailbox, a correction or a deletion is normally straightforward once the message has been identified. Where a message has become part of an order, as an agreed specification for a shipment or a document a shipment was invoiced against, that record has to be kept for as long as the transaction and the law it falls under require, so deletion is not automatic and the reply will say which part was kept and why. Anything the two measurement services recorded sits in their systems rather than in a file held under your name here; the browser controls above change what those services collect from that point on, and a request about what is already held there has to go to the provider.
