304 is an 18% chromium, 8% nickel austenitic stainless steel. It is an all-purpose grade with good corrosion resistance, suitable for a wide variety of applications that require good formability and weldability.

2B
2B (BS EN 10088-2): cold rolled, heat treated, pickled, skin passed; non-reflective and smooth, with a typical Ra of 0.1–0.5 micrometres.
BA
BA (ASTM A480): a smooth, bright, reflective finish, typically produced by cold rolling followed by annealing in a protective atmosphere. It is common in some grades and thicknesses, but not all.

304L is ordered as its own line item rather than as an option inside a 304 enquiry. What belongs here is only the decision of whether your part calls for it.
When to name 304L
Where the part is welded after forming, the order may have to state 304L as the designation and carry it on the lot certificate. That is a requirement to write down; the grade name does not carry it, and a 304/304L dual-certified document is quoted separately rather than following on from it.
Ordered separately
304L runs as its own line item with its own finish, sizes and documents. The other finishes in the table above are 304.
