430 Stainless Steel Coil From ZIVO STEEL
ZIVO STEEL supplies 430 stainless steel coil, cold rolled, in 2B and BA finish. The table below gives the thickness, width, coil ID and coil weight confirmed for each of the two finishes. They do not cover the same thickness range, so the finish has to be settled before the thickness.

430 Coil Specifications
Thickness, width, coil ID and coil weight for each confirmed 430 finish. A dash means no size is listed for that combination.
430 at a Glance
430 is a ferritic stainless steel. It contains no nickel, it takes a polish well, and it is magnetic. Those properties come from the ferritic structure rather than from a processing step, so they hold for every 430 coil on this page, in both finishes and across the whole thickness range.

Finishes on 430 Coil
430 coil is confirmed in two cold rolled finishes. For comparable thickness and finishing processes, cold rolled 430 is brighter than 304.
2B
Cold rolled, heat treated, pickled, skin passed. Under EN 10088-2 it is described as the most common cold rolled finish available: non-reflective, smooth, with good flatness control and a typical Ra of 0.1-0.5 micrometres. On 430 it runs 0.26 to 3.0 mm thick, 1219 mm or 1250 mm wide.
BA
A smooth, bright, reflective finish, produced by cold rolling and then annealing in a protective atmosphere so that the strip does not oxidise or scale while it is annealed. On 430 it runs 0.3 to 1.2 mm thick, 1219 mm wide. BA is common in some grades and thicknesses but not all, which is why this band is the narrower of the two.

Magnetic, and Without Nickel
Two properties of 430 decide how a shipment is received and how the specification has to be written.
Magnetic at goods-in
430 is magnetic. A magnet at incoming inspection therefore says the material is ferritic; on an austenitic grade the same test says the opposite. Put the expected result in the order, so that an inspection does not raise a claim against coil that was supplied correctly.
No nickel in the grade
430 contains no nickel. That is part of what the grade is, not something a mill adds back on request, so any requirement written against nickel content has to be settled before 430 is ordered.
Polishing and brightness
430 takes a polish well, and for comparable thickness and finishing processes cold rolled 430 is brighter than 304. Where appearance is the reason for the order, name the finish in the enquiry: the table above carries 2B and BA, and they do not cover the same thickness range.
What to Confirm Before Ordering
A quotation needs the grade, finish, thickness, width, length and quantity. The availability of surface finishes and dimensions depends on the steel grade, and on 430 the finish decides which thickness band is open. ZIVO sales confirms the specification with you before the order and keeps it on file.
Documents and Inspection
What travels with a 430 coil shipment, and what is checked before it leaves.
Mill test certificate
Each shipment comes with a mill test certificate and a packing list. The certificate supplied is the mill original.
Check before shipment
Before shipment ZIVO checks thickness, width, surface, weight, packing and labels.
Third-party inspection
Third-party inspection, for example SGS or BV, is accepted; the inspection cost is paid by you.
Quote Basis and Price Level
430 is quoted in US dollars, FOB Qingdao, against a specification confirmed before the order, and the lead time is set by that specification and the quantity. This page carries no indicative price of its own, and the reason is the grade rather than the page: 430 follows ferrochrome rather than nickel, so it moves separately from 304 and from 201. What can be given is the typical relationship to 304 cold rolled coil, below. The dated 304 reference price sits on the 304 coil page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. 430 is a ferritic stainless steel and it is magnetic. A magnet at incoming inspection confirms the structure; it does not by itself confirm that the coil meets the ordered specification.
Cold rolled 2B and BA. In 2B the confirmed band is 0.26 to 3.0 mm thick at 1219 mm or 1250 mm wide; in BA it is 0.3 to 1.2 mm thick at 1219 mm wide. Both come with a coil ID of 508 mm or 610 mm and a coil weight of 2 to 10 t.
430 is ferritic and contains no nickel.
The availability of surface finishes and dimensions depends on the steel grade, and BA is common in some grades and thicknesses but not all. On 430 the confirmed BA band is 0.3 to 1.2 mm, against 0.26 to 3.0 mm in 2B.
The grade, finish, thickness, width, length and quantity. Minimum order for stainless steel is 300 kg. Quotations are in US dollars, FOB Qingdao.
