Profiled Steel Sheet RFQ: Drawing to Receipt
Turn a profile drawing into effective cover width, finished quantity, color and receipt criteria.
Provide the profile drawing
Send the full profile drawing, not only a trade name such as corrugated sheet. The drawing should define pitch, depth, crest and valley geometry, lap direction and the formed edge. Ask the supplier to mark which drawing revision it can manufacture through its partner route. A similar-looking profile may not fit an existing overlap or fixing pattern.
Confirm effective cover width
Distinguish overall sheet width, feed width and effective cover width after side laps. Ask the supplier to annotate the proposed finished drawing with the width that will actually cover the roof or wall. A catalogue wave name or nominal width is not proof that adjacent sheets will fit your fixing and overlap pattern.
Profile pitch/depth
State the required profile pitch/depth and how it will be verified for this order.
Overall versus effective width
State the required overall versus effective width and how it will be verified for this order.
Length
State the required length and how it will be verified for this order.
Lap direction
State the required lap direction and how it will be verified for this order.
Calculate ordered piece schedule
Use the approved effective width and required run length to prepare a piece schedule by finished length. Include lap direction, cut sequence, quantity by bundle and any special edge or opening details. A coil-tonnage estimate is not a replacement for a panel count, especially when the project has multiple lengths or visible elevations.

Agree coating and visible face
Specify PPGI or PPGL substrate, metallic coating and paint system separately. Identify the weather-facing side, physical color reference or controlled sample, and any protective film. If the panel is formed from coated feedstock, request confirmation that the proposed combination is suitable for the agreed profile and test basis. A roof-system wind or water-tightness guarantee is not established by the material enquiry.
Check bundle and receipt
Agree how long sheets are stacked and protected, how bundles are marked, and how visible damage is recorded at delivery. A parent-coil certificate does not prove finished profile, length, count or condition. At receipt, compare the drawing revision, effective cover width, paint face and piece schedule before installation; keep photos and labels if anything differs.
